Born in Montreal in 1965, son of immigrant parents from the central region of Italy, Sandro grew up on a quiet little farm in London, Ontario and worked with his father and brothers in the family business. Sandro moved to Toronto 20 years ago when he realized that the construction business didn't challenge his creative and artistic mind.

Sandro worked as an apprentice in the furniture business and at a local woodmill. He later joined a Toronto-based furniture manufacturing business, importing and building custom furniture from Italy. On a dare he created several unique pieces and realized his calling as a craftsman.

On a hiking trip, Sandro came across an old barn. The intricacy and character of the wood inspired him. He approached the owner and listened to the history of the farm and the barn which had collapsed during a recent storm. The farmer explained how the land and barn had passed from generation to generation since 1901. Sandro asked the farmer if he could return and take some of the wood as he found it intriguing.

Sandro built his first piece from the wood he reclaimed from that old broken down barn. Marrying the character of the 19th-century barn with modern day style and appearance, he now designs industrial style furniture that appeals to urban loft owners. He continues the philosophy of his first piece, building unique and stylish furniture from new and reclaimed materials. Sandro's philosophy is both environmentally-friendly and spiritually calming.

Sandro's creations can be found in several local independent furniture stores, and in Greater Toronto Area homes, each piece with its own uniqe character and design. Although Sandro has found many other sources of reclaimed wood, he still uses parts of that original barn in many pieces he creates.
